Riffers: Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett
Tommy had a big day today! He got dressed all by himself, brushed his teeth, went to school, bragged about a loose tooth...all kinds of stuff. He also gets antagonized by his little sister and learns about bunnies.
I'm not a hundred percent certain what to say about this short. It's a bit carefree and aimless as to what its goal is. If I were to venture a guess about it I'd say that it were made as an educational tool for classrooms about kids losing their teeth as they get older. Tommy's loose tooth is the one common thread from beginning to end, while other things just happen to take place. Maybe the casualness of the presentation is meant to relate to children that it was a perfectly normal thing to happen and they shouldn't be concerned about their teeth falling out.
Mike, Kevin, and Bill seem to catch wind of just how aimless the short is, as they try to grasp the plot but often come up short. A lot of my favorite riffs come at the expense of Tommy's sister, who is a little too interested in Tommy's daily routines, following him into the bathroom and especially bugging him about his tooth ("That tooth was really pissing her off!"). This riff is mostly about adding a lot of reaction to everyone's interaction with Tommy, like a teacher with an overly prepared presentation on loose teeth at the ready or the grumpy father who just isn't having any of his family's crap.
It's a light but funny short and I'd definitely recommend it.
Thumbs Up
